Service Project Opportunity Reminder

Our community has an opportunity for a service project again!  Marsha Smiley has informed the LSA that there another large contingent of Burmese refugees will be arriving in Fort Wayne soon, and they will be in need of household items, especially dishes and other kitchen items, clothing, blankets, etc.  So anything extra that you have and no longer need can be put to very good use by these people who are coming to Fort Wayne with practically nothing.  You may bring these items to Feast, or, if you have a large quantity, contact Marsha to coordinate how best to get them to where they are needed.  Last year, there were about 600 Burmese refugees who arrived in Fort Wayne, and this year, there are 800 more expected.  There currently are between 4000 and 5000 Burmese refugees here. Fort Wayne has the largest community of Burmese refugees anywhere in the US!
